Peru is one of the main destination countries for Venezuelans seeking safety and economic opportunities abroad; however, living conditions for many remain challenging. According to the National Household Survey targeting the Venezuelan Population (ENAHOPV), 28 percent of Venezuelans living in Peru are in monetary poverty, meaning their household expenditure is insufficient to cover the basic consumption basket. The report “Pobreza Monetaria de la Población Venezolana en las Ciudades de Estudio, 2024” was produced by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics with support from the JDC, the UNHCR and the World Bank. The survey was implemented between August and November 2024 in nine cities and represents the third statistical study on the Venezuelan population in Peru, following earlier rounds conducted in 2018 and 2022.
